I am starting the blog because it seems I have recently become obsessed with "The List", and find it fascinating. Ok well that is not entirely true - I have always been a list person, but I really just did one when I really needed to get something done. I made a list for the supermarket, I made a list of things to do for a weekend. I made a list when I am packing a suitcase. However, recently I have made a list that encompasses everything and I even have "sub-lists". I get things done and cross them off the list, but I find myself adding more than I am crossing off.
Why do we keep lists? Why do we add more to the list than we can possibly get done? Why don't we throw the list out when we get done and start a new list?
Are there other obsessive list people out there?

Of course there are other obsessive list people out there and I am one of them! Actually I have 2 lists: a WANT list and a NEED list and they both keep growing. I know the need list should come first but it doesn't always... the want list is more fun! Oh, wait, I forgot about the GOAL list which should actually be part of the other lists. OMG, these lists are too much work. I have to go write on my list to work on my lists! LOL
ReplyDeleteHow would I get anything done without a list? At my age, I would forget half the things that need to get done. But, why the hell do things need to get done. Why can't I just go through life without worrying if THINGS get done? Ya know what? Screw it. I'm not getting anything done. I'm going to the movies and eat popcorn.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding, I'm making a new list ;-}
Love ya.
